Consultant & Leadership Coach
Upon my graduation from the University of Minnesota in 2007, a love for adventure and meeting new people led me to teach abroad for a year in the Marshall Islands, followed by another year in South Korea. These experiences have instilled in me a passion for exploration, different perspectives, and new experiences.
I live in South Minneapolis with my fiance who feels proud and fortunate to be a Minneapolis Firefighter. I love swimming (even though I don't know how), trying new restaurants, happy hour with friends, being in nature, oaked chardonnay, buying shoes I'll never wear, and reading classified ads. I'll also never miss an opportunity to hop in a photo booth.
I began my career in the field of customized employment as a community support specialist with Community Involvement Programs in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, I became involved with Griffin-Hammis Associates’ Discovering Personal Genius™ work and was given the opportunity to share this knowledge at various trainings and conferences. In 2013, I received The Association of People Supporting EmploymentFirst's (APSE) Wendy Wood Award for Emerging Leaders. In 2014, I accepted a position as Director of Customized Employment and Community Supports with Ardmore Enterprises in Bowie, MD where I facilitated a large-scale organizational change project. I was also responsible for relaunching the Maryland State APSE Chapter, where I served as president until my return to Minneapolis in 2015.
I joined the Open Spaces team in December of 2015 and am eccstatic to be able to utilize my experience with customized employment, building effective teams, and non-profit organizational change in a new way.
